Kay Francis Nelson, 88, of Arlington Texas, went peacefully to be with her Lord on Monday, December 5th, 2022. Kay was born July 29th, 1934 in Kiowa County Oklahoma. After Kay graduated from Mansfield high School as Senior Vice President and Majorette, she met Morris Nelson at a Church softball game between his church of Johnson station and her Church of Rehoboth Baptist, where together, they remained faithful servants until their deaths in 2022.
Kay excelled in her career as Secretary of Transportation for Arlington Independent School district until her retirement.
Kay was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family fiercely and wanted to spend every moment with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Kay's church family meant everything to her, she and her husband Morris looked so forward to every time the church doors were open. Kay was extremely passionate about her church family, loved each and everyone of them as if they were her own, and Kay's ministry was card writing, as you could always expect to be lifted up by her sweet salutations no matter what you were going through, good or bad, there was a card in the mailbox for you.
Kay's other loves were gardening, as you could always catch her in her flower bed.
Kay is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Morris Nelson; her parents, Alvin and Clara Fowler; and her sibling's, Gary Fowler, Franklin Fowler, Steve Fowler, her twin sister, Gay McMahon, Mike Fowler, and Jack Fowler.
Kay is survived by her children, Tim and Amy Nelson, Mark and Laurie Nelson, and Jana Nelson-Cade. Her grandchildren, Josh Nelson, Zach Nelson, and Kaylee Abernathy. Her great-grandchildren, Marlee Brady, Zoey Nelson, Stevee Gill, Lainey Nelson, Arlo Nelson, And Van Nelson.
Kay Nelson will be more than missed. Her loss is a void in our hearts that can never be filled by the amount of love that she gave.
We love Momma and Grandma Darlin' a bushel and a peck.
