Katherine Josephine Billman

Katherine Josephine Billman age 96, went to her Heavenly home on Saturday, July 4, 2020. She was predeceased by parents Charlie Hamil and Leona Helm Hamil, husband M. A. Billman, infant son Randy Billman, and siblings Charles Ray Hamil, Mildred Hamil Bishop, and Joy Hamil Dodson. Katherine was the last surviving member of her siblings.

Katherine was born on May 20, 1924, in Mansfield and attended Mansfield schools.

Katherine was raised during hard times when a dollar bill looked to be the size of a horse blanket, but she was rich in family and friends. She always recalled a happy life because she loved life itself. She loved helping others by always being the nurse, the taxi, or the helper to whomever needed it. Famous for her double-layer yellow cake topped with home made fudge, folks were always happy to see her arrive carrying that old aluminum cake carrier. She lived a life that made her special by doing unto others as she would have them do unto her. She was loved by all and will be missed by all. Her sons remember going to school in clean pressed clothes, fine home cooking, and that warm and tender love afforded only by a loving mother.

Katherine is survived by her sons Larry A. Billman and wife Martha Billman, Ed Billman and wife Lisa Weinstein Billman, Robby Billman; grandchildren Melanie Billman Chreene, Garrett Billman, Matthew Billman; great grandchildren Christian Chreene, Adam Chreene, John Chreene, Joshua Chreene, Kailey Rose Chreene, and numerous nieces and nephews.
