Judy Lynn Watkins

February 7, 1947 — February 16, 2025

Fort Worth, TX

Judy Lynn (Matthews) Watkins, 78, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2025. She was born on February 7, 1947, in Fort Worth, Texas, to John and Evelyn (Crumpacker) Matthews.

A gifted artist, Judy expressed her deep love for the West through her intricate drawings, paintings, and sculptures. She was a true cowgirl at heart, dedicating her life to horses and actively participating in numerous equestrian events, both in and out of the arena. Beyond her passion for riding, she was a skilled craftswoman with an inventive mind, always ready to lend a hand on any project with her creative use of shop tools. Judy had an extraordinary love for animals and was a registered Animal Rehabilitation Specialist. She devoted herself to nurturing and rehabilitating countless small animals, giving them a second chance to return to the wild.

She is survived by her loving husband, George Watkins; her children, Jason Burks and wife Leslie, and Jeromy Burks and wife Kathy; her grandchildren, Keala, Sara, and Justina; and her great-grandchild, Stetson. She also leaves behind her brother, Richard Matthews, and his wife, Roberta. Judy was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of her life will be held at her home on March 12 at 2 p.m.
