Joseph James Garofano, 72 passed away May 21, 2016.
He was born June 19 1943 in Passaic New Jersey to Dominick and Marie Garofano. “Joe” studied linguistics in at University of Southern California and University of California, Berkley, before joining the United States Army. He later married Linda Pogue of Waxahachie Texas. Joe learned the art of cooking at an early age in his family’s restaurant business and went on to establish his own restaurant The Best burger in Waxahachie Texas with his wife Linda. They operated their business over thirty years and made many friends in Waxahachie. They later owned and operated the Railway Café in Midlothian. They raised their daughters April and Angela in Midlothian and shared a great life. Joe was known for his sense of humor, hard work ethic, and his love of knowledge and family.
Survivors: Joe is survived by his wife Linda Garofano, his daughters April Garofano Brown and Angela Garofano, son in law Michael Brown, Karen Garner and granddaughter Olivia Grace, sisters, Marie Crisafi and Nancy Wilson, nieces Dominique Crisafi, Tammy Brown, Gina Wilson, Candy Pogue; nephews Anthony Crisafi, and Michael Pogue.
