John Wayne Ratliff, 74, of Midlothian, Texas, died in his home on July 28, 2015.
John was born on January 22, 1941 in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Dorothy and Herbert Ratliff. His career was in computer systems manufacturing that spanned over thirty-five years, primarily at Recognition Equipment, Inc. He was an innovative and energetic leader, skilled communicator, team builder, and adept negotiator. His passion for technology and its advancement never waned. In retirement, he taught computer skills to the elderly at the Senior Source in Dallas, Texas. His favorite vacation spot was Hawaii. He loved watching the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys play. He attended Indian Hills Community College (formerly Iowa Tech) and Ottumwa High School.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Ratliff; daughter and spouse, Traci and Anton Ratliff; son, Brad Ratliff; step-sons, LD Sewell and Tim Sewell and his spouse, Deanna Sewell; four grandchildren, Nicolas, Autumn, Maddy, and Kylie; sisters, Melba Sue Raisbeck and Shirley McFarland.
He was a loving husband and father.
