John was born January 23, 1942 in Laona Wisconsin, son of the late John J. Pollack Sr. and Florence Margaret Godin Pollack. He was raised in the Milwaukee area and joined the Marine Corps at the age of 18. He served in Viet Nam, earning several medals, before being honorably discharged to start a career in Information Technology. His 27 years in the IT field were spent with Recognition Equipment Inc., where he met his wife of 26 years, Barbara Jean. Upon his retirement, he and Barbara became farmers and enjoyed traveling, being active in the community, visiting with their grandchildren and doting on their Shih Tzu, Lil Miss Muffin. After the loss of Barbara in 2011, John joined the Widowed Persons Service of Tarrant County and, in time, became a board member and grief counselor to help new members. He made many dear friends in the group and kept busy with social activities such as dancing, bowling, dinners and his newfound love for karaoke.
Survivors: John is survived by his daughters Donna Pollack Dodd (Mike) and Carolyn K. Downing; sisters Janet Inaba and Margaret Rohatsch (John); five grandchildren; one great-grandchild and many other family, neighbors and friends who will remember him with love.
