John David Manning, born on May 28, 1945, in Fort Worth, Texas, departed this world on February 4, 2025, leaving behind a legacy marked by dedication, compassion, and a profound love for his family.
John dedicated an impressive 43 years of his life to General Motors, where he exemplified a strong work ethic and commitment. In addition to his career, he pursued his passion for craftsmanship by engaging in ceramic tile work for 18 years, showcasing his versatile skills. John also dedicated 18 years as a Sunday School Teacher at the Alvarado Nursing Home, where his caring nature and counseling abilities made a lasting impact on those he taught.
John was a man who put others first, always prioritizing the needs of his family and friends. A caring husband, he shared 59 wonderful years with his beloved wife, Glenda Manning. He was the devoted father of Jeff Manning and cherished father-in-law to Jillian Manning. His love extended to his daughter-in-law, Annette Manning, and he took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to Megan Ray and her husband Jaron, Samuel Manning and his wife Katelyn, Havin Allen and her husband Drake, Janie Manning, Alyssa Manning, Carter Manning, Luke Manning, and Tatum Manning. He was also a great-grandfather, adored by Vaughn Cooper, John Luke Ray, Jessa Ray, Jeanneva Ray, Jedi Ray, Jimmie Ray, Bella White, and Solara Stephens.
Beyond his family life, John found joy in attending his grandchildren's sporting events and spending time at the First Baptist Church of Alvarado. His love for horses, especially with his granddaughter Megan, brought him immense happiness.
John will be remembered not only for his hard work but also for his kind heart and generous spirit. He was preceded in death by his father, John E. Manning, his mother, Lorene Manning, his son Doug Manning, and his grandchild John Mark Manning.
Visitation for John David Manning will be held on February 10, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 401 Elm St, Mansfield, TX. The funeral service will take place on February 11, 2025, beginning at 1:00 PM, also at 401 Elm St, Mansfield, TX, with a reception following after the service.
Throughout his life, John David Manning embodied the essence of hard work and love for family, and his memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege to know him.
