John Mark Bohannan

May 7, 1925 — August 1, 2016

John Mark “Bo” Bohannan passed away peacefully at his home on August 1, 2016, with his wife Jo at his side.
John was born May 7, 1925 in Cleveland, Texas. He attended public school in Galveston County, Jefferson County and Newton County. He entered the U.S. Navy Armed Guard in January, 1942. Bo served in the Pacific, Atlantic and Mediterranean Seas and took part in the invasion of Sicily. He was wounded in action while aboard ships in Tripoli and Libya during the North African Campaign.
After WWII, he went in to law enforcement. He attended Texas A & M and other law enforcement schools during his 17 years in the law enforcement field. He later retired from Sargent Sowell Company in Grand Prairie.
He was a member of Faith Assembly of God which he dearly loved and thought Pastor Waite was the absolute tops.
He also served on the City Council of Forest Hill from 1973 to 1975 as well as serving as chairman and member of other boards and committees for the city.
His first love was his Lord and his wife, Jo, and fishing was tied for second.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years and 11 months, Jo, two great grandchildren and two sisters, B.J. Young and Patti Wilson, of Irving.
