Joanne F. Wojcik

d. January 13, 2014

Mansfield - Joanne lost her courageous battle with ovarian cancer on Jan. 13th 2014 in the presence of her daughter and husband and is now with the Lord. She was a proud Texan born in Waco, Texas and lived nearly her entire life here. She was a loving mother and wife. Although frugal in life, she was generous with love, caring and protection for family.

Joanne never liked unfinished business and saw things through to completion. She was competitive in life, cards, and sports, loved volleyball but most of all tennis. While a member of Walnut Creek Country Club and Tennis Competitors of Dallas, she played for years in local competition.

She worked at SMACNA office in Arlington and later for Weldon Mechanical where she was secretary to the owner and office manager until she retired in 2004. After retirement she enjoyed a simple life of enjoying the cattle and the dogs. She always loved bargains whether at the store or as a regular at local estate sales shopping for collectibles, of course at the right price.

Joanne was a very private person being an only child of an only child and it was her request that she not have a viewing or a public celebration of her life, but that she be cremated. That wish is granted. In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy, it is our desire that any contributions be made to a cancer organization of your choice.

Survivors - Husband of nearly 29 years, Thomas, her daughter Leanne, her son David and his wife Dawn and their children Bryan and Kevin of Colorado, stepdaughters Elizabeth and Katherine of Michigan.
