MANSFIELD -- Jim Edwin Griffin, 85, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013. Jim was born in Messar, Okla., on Aug. 5, 1927, the son of Harvey Griffin and Lelia Westbrook Griffin. He married Dorothy Louise Sprinkle in Paris on Feb. 10, 1950. Mr. Griffin was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from General Motors and was a longtime member of Mansfield Church of Christ where he served as deacon, treasurer and in the benevolence ministry. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bernice Sims; brother, Dorman Griffin; and an infant baby. Survivors: Wife of 62 years, Dorothy Griffin of Mansfield; children, Kay Glover and husband, Randy, of Mansfield and David Griffin and wife, Kelly, of Arlington; grandchildren, Stacie Palmer and partner, Angela Marvel, Larry Palmer, Alexis Hall and Holly Glover; sister, Helen Angelly of Marietta, Okla.; brothers, Dewey Griffin of Hugo, Okla., and Donald Ray Griffin of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
