Jessica Louise Crook, 94, Mansfield, Texas passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021. Jessica was born September 6, 1927 in Lexington, Tennessee.
From an early age Jessica had big dreams of living in Hollywood, California. Jessica decided to make her dream come true and took a bus from Houston, Texas to Hollywood, California. While on the bus she met a handsome young Navy man named, Roland Ray Crook, who she later married.
Jessica was an Executive Secretary, she worked for some interesting characters. In Houston, Texas Jessica worked for Kern Tipps a famous Radio Announcer. Once Jessica moved to Hollywood, California she worked for an attorney, where she met sone famous actors of that time. Her last employer was with DDI in California, where she worked for almost 20 years, retiring at the age of 82.
Jessica then moved to Mansfield, Texas to be near her family. Jessica was a member of Mansfield Women’s Club, Central Baptist Church, Huntington Beach, California, and Mansfield Bible Church. Jessica had a passion for spending time with her family and friends, traveling, music, and dancing. She will be greatly missed by all.
Jessica is preceded in death by parents, Effie and Clyde Byrd; grandmother, Molly Moore; her husband, Roland Ray Crook; sisters, Joann McLeod, Juathenia Garner, and Robbie Galloway; brother, Jerry Byrd; and daughter, Gayle Kendall. She is survived by her son, Gregory Roland Crook ( Deborah); grandchildren, Coleman Crook (Bethany), Zachary Crook, Leslie Wise, Jessica Wise, Victoria Budich ( Josh); great grandchildren, Landyn Reid Crook, Everet Clauser, Vann Clauser, Francesca Shuffield, Jack Budich, and Tory Budich; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
