Jesse Sr.

MANSFIELD - Jesse Medina Sr., 64, of Mansfield, went home to meet his Lord our Savior on September 1, 2012. His final days were spent at his Mansfield home surrounded by all the family and friends that Jesse held dearest. Jesse Sr. was born on May 9, 1948 in Lampasas, Texas to Simon and Martha Medina. Shortly after, the family moved to Abilene, Texas where he was raised and in 1965 met the love of his life, Sylvia Trevino. They were united in marriage on July 8, 1967 and had 5 children. In 1976 he took his family and moved to Mansfield, Texas where he was employed at Trinity Forge for over 20 years. His hobbies included spending time with his family and friends, involving himself with the Mansfield Youth Sports Association where he was simply known as 'Coach Medina'. He also enjoyed officiating softball throughout the DFW Metroplex and was also invited to officiate in many out-of-state tournaments for National & World Series. In the latter part of his life he enjoyed participating in billiard tournaments. He began to spend the majority of his time at family gatherings that included cook outs, watching the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, the Mavericks and listening to his favorite Tejano music. Jesse Sr. is survived by his wife Sylvia of 45 years, daughter Patricia Medina; son Jesse Jr. and grandsons Cody & Austin Medina of Mansfield; son Michael Medina and wife Jessica and grandson Gabriel Medina of Arlington; son Vincente Medina and grandchildren Victoria, Arriana and Samuel Medina of Arlington; daughter Monica and husband Alonzo DeLeon, Jr. of Arlington, brothers Gavino Trevino and wife Tammy of Arlington, Richard Trevino and wife Yolanda of Mansfield, Sisters Sulema Myers and partner Jude Boatmun, Maria Silva, Rosie Trevino all of Abilene, brothers Manuel Medina of Destin, Florida, David Medina of Abilene, Henry Medina of Abilene & sister Delores Hernandez of Dallas; several nieces and nephews and lastly all of his "children" that he coached or had a hand in raising! He is preceded in death by his parents Simon and Martha Medina, brother Patricio Trevino, brother Jimmy Medina, sister Olga Silva, and sister Mickey Medina.
