Jerry Loyd Harmon

Jerry Loyd Harmon, aged 83, passed away February 26, 2024. He was born as a twin February 18, 1941, to Thomas and Alta Harmon in Britton, Texas. He was raised on a family farm in Mansfield, Texas and graduated from Mansfield High School.

Jerry is an Army Veteran and served all over the world for his country. He worked for and retired from Jack Cooper Transports in Arlington, TX, Oklahoma City, OK, and Kansas City, MO as the Vice President of Quality Assurance. Jerry moved back to Mansfield after retirement and then later to Oklahoma City and Davis, Oklahoma where he had many friends and neighbors. Jerry was an avid gardener, and enjoyed architecture, antiques, and interior design. For the last five years of his life, Jerry moved to Golden, Colorado to be with his daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren.

Jerry was a kind, forgiving, and gentle man who never met a stranger. His generosity was unmatched, and he shared what he could with those in need. His quiet faith was his compass and he always put family, friends, and community before all else.

Jerry was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Mansfield, TX for many years and sang in the church choir. In his teen years, Jerry played the trumpet in the Mansfield High School Band. Jerry was quietly involved with many charitable organizations and was a contributor to the Mansfield Historical Society.
Jerry is preceded in death by his loving mother Alta Pearl Harmon, father Thomas Vernon Harmon, twin brother Terry Boyd Harmon, and brother Tommy Ray Harmon.

Jerry is survived by daughter Laura Powderly and husband Johnny, grandchildren Cole and Katy Powderly, and numerous extended family and friends,
