Jay was born June 13, 1945 in Everton, Missouri, the son of John and Beatrice Valentine Parker. He graduated from Buffalo High School in Missouri, and later joined the United States Air Force in 1963. Jay retired in 2012 after 34 years from Dallas Love Field Airport.
After family, Jay’s passion was for pickin’ and grinnin’. An avid Chet Atkins, finger-style guitar player for 50 years, he also had a deep love for Bluegrass and singing three-part harmony, both of which he shared with his wife Mona.
Jay is preceded in death by his parents, John and Beatrice, half-brother John Parker and infant son, Jeffrey.
Survivors: Wife of 22 years, Mona Parker; children, Regina Parker, Joseph Parker, Monica Moreno and husband, Luis; grandchildren, Carissa, Eliana, Alicia and Anabella Moreno; siblings, Jerry Finley, Jim Parker, June Lenger, Jack Parker, Joanne Arnett, George Parker, and Vicki Gates and numerous loving family and friends.
