James Lee Towns

September 26, 1936 — April 12, 2022

James Lee Towns, 85 years young, of Granbury, Texas, joined his Lord and Savior on April 12, 2022.

Jim was a beloved son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
Jim was born on September 26, 1936 to J.O. and Pinkie Towns. Jim was part of a loving family of 10 children. His siblings Thomas Towns, Katherine Sims, Jackie Crabb, Mike Towns, and David Towns welcomed him in heaven. He will be missed by Lila Smith and husband Bud, Joyce Keefe, Lois Capps and husband Earl, and Richard Towns and wife Brenda. His daughters Cecilia Hammett and husband Vince, Jodie Nixon and husband Shaun, and Tammie Towns. Grandchildren Josh Woolbright and wife Kimberly, Ashley Huckabee and husband Dustin, Courtney Diaz and husband Edgar, and Jessie McBrayer. Great-grandchildren Ella Woolbright, Lincoln James and Paxton Huckabee, and Imogen Diaz all celebrate his legacy and keep his memory alive.

Jim served in the Army beginning in 1954 and the US Air Force reserve for 20 plus years. He was a plumbing contractor, entrepreneur, college sports enthusiast, avid fisherman, honorary member of the Hatchet Lake Lodge Staff, and notorious jokester.

James, Jim, JT, Pops, Daddy... full of joy and a bright light in countless lives with his mischievous grin and twinkle in his eye. While he will be greatly missed and leave behind an irreplaceable void in our hearts, we celebrate his freedom and know he is fishing with our Lord.
