James William McMillen passed away peacefully on Christmas Day at the age of 81, following a brief illness. Known affectionately as Jim, he is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Kay Hiebert McMillen, his daughter Deana Griffin, his sons Scott McMillen and Bryan McMillen, his son-in-law Joe Griffin, and his cherished grandsons Toby Griffin and Casey Griffin. He also leaves behind two sisters, Beth McMillen and Louise Daley, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jim was born on December 15, 1943, to Charles William and Janie Lee Elizabeth McMillen in Ennis, TX. He spent his childhood helping his father with hauling hay and grain, and working cattle. Jim lived his entire life in Mansfield, Texas, where he worked as a semi-truck driver for 45 years before retiring in 2008.
Jim was a man who enjoyed simple pleasures, such as spending time with friends at the donut shop and engaging in lively discussions. He was a devoted member of the South Oaks campus of Fielder Road Baptist Church, faithfully attending Sunday School and church services every week. Jim took immense pride in his children and grandchildren, and his love for them was evident to all who knew him.
A devout believer in Christ Jesus, Jim's faith was a cornerstone of his life. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is now in heaven, praising God. Jim will be laid to rest at Mansfield Cemetery, where his memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
