James Virgil McClure, 87, a loving hardworking husband and father, won his earthly battle on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at his home in Cleburne, Texas.
Service: 10 a.m., Wednesday at Blessing Funeral Home, Mansfield. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
He was a talented carpenter. He gave his heart to Jesus at age 16. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II, and was a member of the Deer Creek Masonic Lodge #510 in Everman. He never met a stranger, had a colorful sense of humor and loved hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram and Jewel McClure; wife, Wanda McClure; brother, Waymon McClure; sister, Oleta Keating and grandson, Aaron Arter.
Survivors: Children, LaDonna Newton (Larry) of Cleburne, Randy McClure (Sue) of Boyd, Beverly Arter (Lee) of Kennedale; grandchildren, Brandi Carey (Shawn) of Fort Worth, Amanda Watson (Kiel) of Cleburne, Megan Hunter (Keith) of Kennedale, Evan Arter of Kennedale; great-grandchildren, Jalun Watkins, Jordan Watkins, Libby Woolridge, Christian Woolridge, Austin Linam, Jackson Carey, Madison Blue, Kolton Watson; two great-great-granddaughters, Jaylin and Ella; and numerous nieces and nephews.
