James William Martin

James William “Bill” Martin, 81, peacefully passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at his Mansfield home surrounded by family. Bill was born to James and Blossom Martin on December 22, 1939 in Morristown, New Jersey.

The Martins’ moved to Mansfield Texas while Bill was young. Bill attended Mansfield High School, graduated in 1959 and spent the rest of his life there.

In 1962 he married his true love, Estella, to whom he was a devoted husband for 59 years. Only his death could bring about their separation. Bill was a professional over the road truck driver, proud Teamster Union man, a great role model and provider for his family, loving grandfather and uncle, a racer of hot rods in his youth, always good for a laugh and the proud owner of a fully restored ‘52 Ford F-100. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, a daughter, five grandchildren and a niece.

A viewing, followed by a service will be held at Britton United Methodist Church located at 4200 Britton Rd., Mansfield TX 76063, Monday July 12, 2021 starting at 10:00 AM and recessing at 11:45 AM. Immediately following the service, Bill will be Interred at Calvary Cemetery, located at 3200 Cannon Dr., Mansfield, TX 76063.
