James J Lee was born in Yokohama, Japan, and raised in Daegu, South Korea.
He graduated from the Korean Military Academy, and Kyungpook National University, with a degree in Physics. He had a military career in the Republic of Korea Army, and also served in the United Sates Army. He was a black belt in Taekwondo, enjoyed cooking, reading, calligraphy, and gardening. James was battling cancer for the past several years.
He passed away on December 13, 2021, and leaves behind a loving wife, children, and grandchildren.
