James Randell Hess, 83 of Alvarado, was called home to heaven on July 31, 2024. Randell was born to Vernette and J.C. Hess on February 23, 1941 in Gorman Texas. He spent his formative years in Cisco and Moran, Texas. After high school, Randell pursued a career in the automotive industry – he spent 37 years with General Motors Arlington Assembly before his retirement April 1, 2000.
He met and married the love of his life, Georgia Ann Hess on January, 25, 1975. They spent 44 happy years together.
Randell enjoyed the outdoors; he loved crappie fishing and bird and deer hunting. He also loved sports, especially football – high school, college and the Dallas Cowboys. He really loved to aggravate people; If he didn’t aggravate you, then he didn’t love you. Above all else he loved his family and was a doting grandfather to his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Georgia; and his parents, Vernette and J.C. Hess.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his two sons, Jay Hess(Penny) and Justin Hess(Shonya), daughter Susie McCauly and his grandchildren, Jered Hess, Jaymee (Dewayne) Pollard, Austin Hess, Kenneth Hess, Nathan Hess, DJ, Christa, Lyric, Shaley and many great grandchildren.
