Jack Winn, 88, of Mansfield, passed away on Friday, September 21.
Jack was born April 10, 1930 in Dallas, Texas to Claude Hale and Mamie Jewell Winn. After serving in the Navy and Navy reserves, he worked at General Dynamics until his retirement in 1992.
He was married to the first love of his life, Nelda Ann Taylor, July 20, 1955, until her death in 2004. They moved to Mansfield in 1959 and raised their four children, Robert, Marla, Richard and Sheryl.
Jack found love again late in life and was married to Florinne Mimbs in 2008 until his death.
Through the years in Mansfield, he was a member both of First Baptist Church Mansfield and Walnut Ridge Baptist Church.
Jack is preceded in death by his first wife of 49 years, Nelda Ann Taylor Winn, his parents Claude Hale and Mamie Jewell Winn and sister Peggy Marie Winn.
He is survived by wife, Florinne, his children, Robert Winn and wife Jackie, Marla Hatfield and husband Mike, Richard Winn and wife Christy, and Sheryl Herigon. Grandchildren Michelle Sanders and husband Jonathan, Jeffrey Evans, Matthew Winn and wife Jenifer, Brandi Slaughter and husband Scott, Joseph Grace, Rachel Rannals and husband Kenny, Shana Mode and husband Cameron, Sarah Winn, Jenny Murphy and husband Jaymes, Joshua Winn and wife Skylan, and fourteen great-grandchldren. He is also survived by Florinne’s daughters, Laura Hendrix and Melissa Mimbs, along with other members of her family and his many dear friends.
A special thank you to all the nurses at Envoy Hospice who took such good care of Jack in his final days.
