Ivan Joe Coble

Ivan Joe Coble, 90 of Mansfield died June 7th at his home.

He was born February 22, 1929 in Matagorda, Texas, but spent most of his life in Mansfield. Mr. Coble graduated Mansfield High School in 1946. He was a retired civil engineer with the Texas Highway Department and enjoyed a second career raising dairy stocker cattle. Mr. Coble was a US Army veteran of the Korean era. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing dominoes and bridge with friends and family. He also enjoyed the company of a close group of breakfast friends at Our Place Restaurant in Mansfield. Joe became a Christian at an early age. Mr. Coble was the oldest child of Ivan Luther and Ila (Foster) Coble.

Mr. Coble is survived by his wife of 16 years Charlotte Coble; daughter Ruth Ann and husband Darrell Davis of Burleson; two brothers, Wayne Coble of Arlington and Harold Coble and wife Judy of DeSoto, MO; sister Trudy Johnson and husband Jim of Mansfield; granddaughter Ashley Jean Camarena and husband Johnny; great-grandson Jackson Oltmanns; stepdaughter Shelia Payne and husband Jerry; step-grandson Thomas Payne; and step-granddaughter Elizabeth Sanchez and husband Andrew.

Mr. Coble was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Patsy Ruth Lambert Coble; brother James L. and wife Gardena Coble; sister Peggy and husband Allen Phillips; and sister-in-law Nancy Dean Dunsworth Coble.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Envoy Hospice for the compassionate care and assistance they provided during Joe's illness.
