MANSFIELD -- Red (Irving A.)Tyler passed to heaven on Friday July 12, 2013. Memorials: In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Del Rio Val Verde 100 Club serving the families of firefighters and law enforcement in Del Rio. Red was born to the late Irving and Isabelle Tyler, on June 25, 1935 in Middletown CT. Red attended high school locally and entered the Air Force upon graduation. His military service as a Staff Sergeant in the Strategic Air Command, took him around the world and brought him to Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio. where he courted and married Lorraine Glynn. Red was a professional firefighter retiring at the rank of Captain. His greatest passion was training professional and volunteer firemen to save lives and property and to be safe in their work. As a Master Electrician, Red started and ran an electrical contracting business for many years and in this work developed great friendships with businessmen and home owners in Del Rio. Red and Lorraine relocated upon retirement to Cleburne. Red is remembered as a kind and hard-working man who enjoyed all people and loved his family. Survivors: Red is survived by his three children and their spouses, Tanya and John Oldham, Bubba and Mary Tyler, Renay Tyler; and his ten grandchildren, Amanda, Rebecca, Jessica, Paige, Loren, Leah, Tracey, Travis, Whitney and Nettie.
