Henry Edwin Grote Jr. was born October 5, 1930 in Houston, Texas and passed away January 20, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father Henry, his mother Adela, and his sister Mary Jennings.
Henry graduated in 1949 from Technical High School in Fort Worth. He joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served in the Korean War. During his tour he visited Japan and successfully climbed Mt. Fuji.
Henry retired from Texas Refinery Corporation after 40 years. He was a genius machinist that could build anything! His life was a testimony of honesty, faithful service and commitment.
Henry married Frances Gorman on October 19, 1968. He said over and over, year after year that she is the best thing to have ever happen to him! He loved to polka dance and to celebrate his heritage. He was a 50 year + member of SPJST Lodge 154.
Henry is survived by his beautiful wife of 49 ½ years, Frances Gorman Grote; Daughters Johanna Williams and husband Wayne of Mansfield; Debbie Westvold and husband Bob of Granbury; and Nancy Gillingham and husband Ben of Bedford; Grandchildren, Leya Daughabaugh, Roger Villarreal, Steven Villarreal, Patrick McCreery, Dalton Williams, Ashton Williams, and Ashley Gillingham; Great grandchildren; Cole, Alexis, Raiya, Aumora, Naomi, Lyla, and Celia; and a large group of loving family and friends...we all know that he LOVED US MORE!
