Gloria Jean Hostetter, 78, passed away October 5, 2016. Gloria was born to George D. Hogan and Josephine (Kessler) Hogan April 13, 1938 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Gloria knew what hard work was, working as a waitress beginning in 1951 at the age of 13 until 1999. She married Paul Hostetter November 4, 1992.
She continued to visit Waffle House, every morning, sitting at the bar, drinking her coffee and ordering the same thing every morning.......hash browns scattered, steamed, light and chunked.
She enjoyed Italian food, a juicy hamburger, MacGyver and her "red-headed man", Lieutenant Horatio Caine, on CSI: Miami. Gloria also enjoyed music, playing a guitar, piano and singing. She was talented as well with drawing, coloring and painting and gardening. One of her most favorite things to do was to spend time with her grandchildren and caring for her dog, Bullet.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, siblings and husband.
Gloria is survived by her daughter Tonya Finlay and Tonya's husband Mike, daughter Deborah Willis, granddaughter Heather Crowder and her husband David, granddaughter Shayla "Starr" Finlay, grandson Aldon Charles "A.C." Finlay, great-grandson Rylan Finlay and her dog, Bullet.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Vikki and Shelia for the love and care they showed Gloria. Your compassionate hearts are a true gift and a testament to your loving character.
For those that knew and loved Gloria, she will be missed.
