Glenn Edwin Harris
September 25, 1956- March 21, 2023
A musician and an amazing husband and father, Glenn Harris loved life and his family. Glenn went flying in the arms of Jesus on March 21, 2023 at the age of 66 in Dallas, Texas after a courageous battle with Leukemia. Despite the pain of this terrible disease, Glenn came out a hero and stayed strong until the very end.
Glenn was born on September 25, 1956 in Houston, Texas at St. Joseph’s Hospital to Robert Glenn Harris and Melva June Trawick-Harris. Glenn grew up in Conroe, Texas and graduated from Conroe High School in 1975. Glenn was an avid musician showcasing his talents through singing and playing the drums with numerous bands.
Glenn met the love of his life, Janie Hambrick at Conroe High School in 1973 and they became instant best friends. Their friendship blossomed into love and they were married in 1975. They loved spending time together every day. It wasn’t uncommon for them to sit together every morning discussing their upcoming day and current events. Together they had two daughters, Brandi and Bethany, the apples of their eyes.
Glenn completed his bachelor’s degree graduating Cum Laude, double majoring in Applied Science and Arts from Stephen F. Austin University in 2001. Glenn was determined to complete his degree after many years of working toward his degree. Before beginning his career at Lockheed Martin, Glenn served with Congressmen Kevin Brady and Charlie Wilson with a specialized Department of Defense government contract/grant through the Department of Defense administered by the Chamber of Commerce in The Woodlands, Texas. Glenn was presented with the award of Special Congressional Recognition for his work with the Department of Defense for his excellent service. Glenn has worked at Lockheed Martin for 27 years where he received numerous awards and accolades.
Glenn is preceded in death by his parents Robert Harris and Melva Trawick, in-laws, William Sr. and Doris Hambrick, his grandparents, Hubert and Almeda Trawick, and uncle Kenneth Trawick;
Glenn is survived by his loving soul mate of 47 years, Janie Harris; children: Brandi (Jeremy) Karnowski, Bethany Harris; granddaughter: Baliee Karnowski; grandson: Jarrett (Shelby) Karnowski; sister in-laws; Debra (Kevin) McQuain and Linda (Jesse) Thornton; brother-in-law; William, Jr. (Pat) Hambrick; brother: Kevin (Kristy) Scherry; sisters: Gina Strother, Dana Scherry-Kennedy, and Lisa Strother-Landsford, numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends. Glenn will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
