George “Glenn” Andrew, Jr., age 75, passed away on December 29, 2021 in Kingwood, TX. He passed away peacefully with his wife and children by his side, just a short time after a beautiful visit from all his grandchildren.
Glenn was born in Beaumont, TX on December 8, 1946 and was raised in Lafayette, LA. He was an avid Boy Scout and one of his proudest childhood achievements was earning the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from The University of Southern Louisiana with a Bachelors in Business where he was an active member of the Theta Xi fraternity. He later received a Masters in Business Administration from Texas Tech University.
He was married to Sharon Andrew in Houston, TX on August 31, 1974. Glenn and Sharon were married for 47 years and had two children, Andy and Shanna, whom they raised in Kingwood, TX. Throughout their long relationship Glenn never missed the opportunity to say that Sharon was the love of his life.
Glenn worked for The Department of Homeland Security, US Customs and Border Protection for 34 years, serving in multiple intelligence and management roles ending his career as a Director of Operational Analysis over the Port of Houston. He had a passion for mentoring and training others and throughout his career traveled widely to perform training seminars and educate through trade shows.
Glenn is preceded in death by his parents George Glenn Andrew, Sr. and Elizabeth “Ann” Andrew and his sister in law, Connie Andrew. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Andrew, his son Andy (Ashley), his daughter Shanna DeLeon (Ruben), his grandchildren Grayson Andrew, Landon Andrew, Evan Andrew and August DeLeon, his brother Randy, his sister Carol Pataky (Ron), his sisters in law Marilyn Wilbert, Carolyn Harger and Arlene Ryder and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the Doctors and staff at Landon Ridge Assisted Living Home for the wonderful care given. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
