Georgann Metcalf, 81, went home to her Heavenly Father Friday, February 19, 2016.
Georgann was born June 23, 1934 in Unionville, Missouri to Walter and Ruth Wiseman and attended Unionville High School, participating in band and theatre. She went on to attend Kirksville College in Kirksville, Missouri, where she successfully achieved her Associates Degree in Finance.
July 28, 1967, she married the love of her life, Jerry Metcalf, and continued to love him for nearly 49 years.
She was the Lawton First Baptist Church financial secretary as well as the chief financial reimbursement officer at the Taliaferro Mental Health Facility in Lawton, Oklahoma and the reimbursement officer for the entire Oklahoma Mental Health System where she created and implemented their computer billing system. She created the state manual and then installed and trained the other state facilities in the new process of billing. The state of Oklahoma, Department of Mental Health, honored Georgann for ten years of dedicated service to the mental health system in 1988 and was honored for “Exemplary Service” by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services by the Employees Council, July 1, 1990.
Music was a lifelong love. She sang in her church choirs her entire life. She was the choir director at Janlee Baptist in Burkburnet, Texas. However, her favorite job was rocking the babies in her church nursery.
One of her hobbies was interior decorating. She loved arranging rooms and accessorizing them to make each space feel friendly, welcoming and stylish.
She had a wide circle of friends and loved entertaining them with her husband Jerry.
Survivors include her Husband Jerry Metcalf, children Marsha Bryan of Arlington, TX, Linda Tiller of Woodsboro, TX, and Scott Metcalf of Stuart, Florida; grandchildren Chris Bryan, Justin Bryan, Anna Dinkel, Lauren Garcia, Krista Bahnsen, Dr. Emily Dany-Smith, Darius Metcalf and Devon Metcalf; great grandchildren Tristan Bryan, Conor Bryan, Finnian Bryan, Anderson Bryan, Benjamin Bryan, Adam Garcia, Vivian Garcia, and Leah Bahnsen.
