Robert Eugene (Gene) Ware, age 90, peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, July 1, 2020. He was predeceased by parents Robert Lee Ware & Unettie Pearl Hardin Ware, and siblings Hal Franklin Ware, Roy Bateman Ware, Alvin David Ware, Euretta Marie Ware Wallis, Oleta Elizabeth Ware Wilkerson, Murele Winson Ware and Clyde Worth Ware. Gene was the last surviving member of his siblings.
Gene was born on August 9, 1929 in Mercury, Texas. He graduated from Richland Springs High School and attended Electronics School in Oklahoma. Gene also served in the Navy Reserve.
As a true entrepreneur, Gene was passionate about every new venture he decided to take on, which made him successful. From selling Lance cookies, to radio and television sales & service, to designing and manufacturing drive-thru intercoms to his final business, building and selling custom-fitted golf clubs. He also excelled in his hobbies such as archery, bass fishing, billiards, deer hunting (both rifle and bow), and golf.
But Gene was most passionate about his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He loved sharing his testimony with others, whether he knew them or not. He spent the last decade passing out his Collection of Bible Truths booklet he’d written, to hundreds of people, most of them strangers. Even in his last days, he was witnessing to his home healthcare providers…a lesson for us all.
Gene is survived by his daughter, Julianne (Juli) Burke and her husband, James R. (Jim), of Mansfield and Gene’s grandson, Matthew Robert Burke, his wife, Julie Anne and their two children, Carsyn Reese (6) and Everett James (4) of Fort Worth.
Gene is also survived by his wife of 28 years, Patricia Ann, his stepdaughter, Kristin Duran and her husband Art, of Lake Jackson, Texas. They have six children: Rachel and Joe Jonas and their new baby boy, Patrick Joseph Janas, David Duran, Joseph Duran, Jennifer Duran, Daniel Duran and Julia Duran.
