Eva Ann Mabe went to be with the Lord December 9, 2022. Eva West was born to Hamilton and Martha West on May 13, 1938 in Dennison. After high school Eva, went on to graduate from Texas Wesleyan University with a degree in education and went onto a career in teaching.
Eva had a lifelong devotion to education. She retired from Mansfield ISD after years of dedicated service. She was one of the fundamental founders in the concept of intermediate school and was a founding educator of Cross Timbers and the Donna Shepard Intermediate Schools.
She was a lifelong Methodist and member at First Methodist Mansfield for nearly 50 years. Her involvement in her Sunday school class was very dear to her. She was also a member of the JR Women’s Club in Fort Worth, the former President of the Alumni Association at Texas Wesleyan, and MISD Retired Teachers.
Eva was an accomplished seamstress. Her artistic talents shined in her hobbies of cooking and crafting.
She was a devoted wife to her husband of 62 years, Mack Mabe, and mother to her two sons and later a doting and dedicated grandmother. Eva’s pride in her grandchildren was evident in the way she lit up whenever they were near.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Mack Mabe; sons Chris Mabe and wife Julia, and Kyle Mabe; and her grandchildren, Will Mabe, Hannah Mabe, Marshall Rea, Emma Rea, and Molly Rea.
