Eula Mae Vass Winslett, 89, passed away Saturday July 3, 2021 at home. Eula Mae was born on January 29, 1932 in Houston to Curtis Lee Vass Sr. and Susie Cleo Vass. She was the second of four children . They moved to the Ft. Worth area when she was five years old. She attended first and second grade at Rendon Elementary and was then moved to Mansfield where she attended until Graduation in 1949. She met her husband Wyatt H. Winslett, Jr. in their junior year and married on Sept 3, 1949 . Before moving from Houston she auditioned for the movies, only to be beaten out by Shirley Temple. She was also Miss Mansfield in 1949, her Senior year.
She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church a total of 40 years where she taught Sunday School. And was also a member at the Arlington Sportsman Club for 30 years where she won several awards for fishing and club work. She was an avid reader, loved to sew, work puzzles, and cook for friends and family, and travel. Eula loved fishing and hunting with Wyatt, Grand Children and friends. She was wild about their Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren.
