Elinor Frances Woodman, aka Elinor Frances Ballinger, passed away November 5, 2021 at 11:29 pm. Surrounded by the warmth of her loving family, she peacefully and as was her style, so very gracefully, left us.
Although her presence will be forever missed, we know that she is with others, and that she is once again being enveloped in the arms of love. She was a centenarian, having celebrated her 100th birthday this past June. She was a Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Great Great Grandmother. She was a friend to everyone, and loved by many. Born in Los Angeles, California, she made Southern California her home for many years. She retired from Continental Telephone Company after relocating to Idaho with her first husband, Albert Ballinger. They enjoyed gardening, traveling, camping, fishing and Elinor was talented at many crafts. After Albert's death, Elinor married her second husband, Vernon Woodman. They shared many happy years together, traveling and meeting new friends. But she was once again widowed. Elinor left Idaho, moving to Texas to be near her family. She was active and healthy, residing alone and independently until shortly before her death.
Elinor had two daughters, Frances Lee Smith, who predeceased her in 2019, and Elinor Owensby. A stepson, Garry Woodman. Additionally, she has seven grandchildren, and A LOT of great, and great great grandchildren. All of which knew her, loved her, and will miss her.
Grandma, I will forever feel the void you've left. I was lucky to have had you in my life for 60 years. We shared a lot in my lifetime, and I always loved and respected you. Even when you tried to trick me with your fake apple pie! You were not just my grandma, but you were also my friend. I'll miss you always.
