DOYLE BLAKE GOLDEN, AGE 93, passed away January 11, 2015 in the hospital in Arlington, Texas. Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015, in San Saba. Doyle will be laid to rest beside his wife of 57 years, Louise Harris Golden, who preceded him in death on December 11, 2000.
Doyle was born to Claude and Maude Golden on January 20, 1921, in San Saba. He grew up and went to school there before leaving to join the United States Army Air Corp to serve during WWII. Doyle married Louise on June 19, 1943 in Los Angeles, California while stationed there.
After completing his military service, he and Louise moved to Fort Worth, Texas and had two sons. He was employed as an aircraft mechanic by General Dynamics and retired from there after 35 years. He and Louise later moved to Arlington, Texas where he lived until his death.
He and Louise were longtime members of Temple Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Doyle is survived by his sons, Ron Golden of Arlington; and Gary Golden and his wife, Marsha, of Los Angeles; two grandchildren Joe Ward and his wife, Heather, of Los Angeles; and Kristen Golden of Nashville, Tennessee. Doyle was also survived by two great-grandchildren, Presley and Ethan Ward of Los Angeles.
Although he left years ago, Doyle loved San Saba and always considered it his home.
