Douglas Dwight Shaver

Douglas Dwight Shaver, 76 of Arlington, went to be with the Lord on March 22, 2023. Doug was born to Pauline and Robert Shaver in Wills Point, Texas on November 24, 1946. He was one of ten siblings. He attended H. Spruce Grady High School and soon after went into retail sales. Doug was a Store Manager at Treasure City and later the District Manager of The Home Front and he retired in Management at Big Lots.

Doug married his beloved wife of 55 years, Diane Shaver, on June 16, 1967 in Dallas, Texas. They had three children, Dawn, Daymon, and Devin. Doug was a family man. He was devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren.

He loved the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers and his hero, John Wayne. He enjoyed watching western films, especially Gun Smoke and other John Wayne movies.

He is preceded in death by his son, Devin Shaver.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Diane Shaver; children, Dawn Plyter and husband, Lance; Daymon Shaver and wife, Angela; grandchildren, Kyle Shaver, Ryan Plyter, Adin Shaver, and Aubree Shaver; brothers, James Shaver and Richard Shaver; sisters, Doris McQuirk and Donna Schieberl; and numerous nieces and nephews.
