Born on March 9, 1934, in Sylvester, Texas, she lived a life rich in love, faith, and devotion to her family. A cherished homemaker, Dorothy was a consistent source of strength for her loved ones, embodying the very essence of what it means to be family-oriented.
Dorothy’s generous spirit and thoughtful nature touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her servant-hearted personality shone brightly in all her endeavors, from her deep involvement in her Sunday School class at First Baptist to the care and attention she put into her hobbies such as sewing and crocheting, scrapbooking, and bird watching. Each project she completed bore the mark of her love and dedication, a true testament to the precious memories she created for her family and friends.
She leaves behind her beloved son, Karl Samuel (Audrey) and her devoted daughter, Donna Sloate (Bob) who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Dorothy was also a proud grandmother to April Martin (Kody) and Lauren Ratterree (Billy), and she delighted in the joys of being a great-grandmother to Linzi, Brylee, Brancen, and Brayden. Each of them will remember her not only for her unwavering love but also for the stories and history she lovingly shared, ensuring that her family's legacy continued to thrive.
Dorothy is reunited in eternity with her beloved husband, Floyd Samuel, as well as her parents, Joseph Boen and Lucy Putman Boen, and siblings Shirley, Kenneth, and Jerry. Her absence is keenly felt by all who knew and loved her, yet they celebrate the life she lived, one filled with enduring faith and familial bonds.
