Doris spent a lifetime in service to those she loved, her focus being a diligent wife and mother. In recent years, she enjoyed being a grandmother and spending every moment possible with Peyton, who was the center of her universe. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Alan Dale Simpson; mother, Sallie Ann Mitchell; father, Cecil S. Mitchell; sister, Diane Wood.
Survivors: Daughter, Whitney Knowles and husband, John Knowles; grandson, Peyton Alan Knowles; sister, Elizabeth Dixon and husband, Tony; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Zoey
