Donna Jean Childs of McKinney, Texas, June 4, 1934-October 13, 2021. Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother peacefully went home to be with the Lord. Preceded in death by her childhood sweetheart of 69 years, Donald Richard Childs. She is survived by her daughters Debbie Sivis (Rev. Larry), Danette Paulson (Mark), Denise Powell (Steve), and son David Childs (Camille), 11 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
She was raised on a dairy farm in Colorado, and was the fourth child out of five children. She loved her days in Paris while her groom was assigned there for the Army. After returning to the states, while her children were young, she taught piano in their home. She enjoyed playing board games, making people laugh, doing cross stitch, reading books, reading her bible, and singing in the church choir with her beautiful soprano voice. She was approached, while living in Missouri, to make a recording of Christian music. She turned it down because her groom was getting transferred to Minnesota. She loved coffee so much that she would drink a whole pot while talking on the phone with her dear friend Pat Walker. Talking to her grandchildren like Donald Duck was always a favorite along with saying commo, and vite vite.
She will be missed, but the joy is she is walking the streets of Glory, and singing in the heavenly choir with the love of her life.
