Diana Petrie

MANSFIELD -- Diana Sue Darnell Petrie, 79, a beautiful lady, loving wife, mother and friend, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2012 in her home surrounded by her family. Funeral Service: 11 a.m., Thursday at First United Methodist Church, 777 N. Walnut Creek, Mansfield. Interment: Following the service at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at Blessing Funeral Home, 401 Elm St., Mansfield. Diana was born in Knox City on February 18, 1933, the daughter of Sadie Sue and John H. Darnell. She graduated from Arlington Heights High School and attended Texas Tech University. She married Orville L. Petrie on September 24, 1982. She was a member of Mansfield Womens Club, Mansfield Book Club and FUMC of Mansfield. She was courageous, supportive and giving and her passing is a great loss to all. Survivors: Husband, Orville L. "Pete" Petrie; sons, David (Brenda) Erwin, Mike Erwin; stepchildren, James (Sally) Petrie, Norman Petrie, Shari Preston and Darlene Morris; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Martha Darnell.
