David Glen Staples of Mansfield, Texas fell asleep peacefully and arrived in the presence of the Lord on February 28, 2021.
David was born July 29, 1953 and was raised in the New Harmony Community in Tyler, Texas. He attended John Tyler High School graduating in 1971. He then went on to proudly serve in the US Army from 71-75, stationed mainly in Turkey assigned to the Military Intelligence Detachment. Upon leaving the service he attended Tyler Jr. College where he met the love of his life, Brenda Shuttlesworth of Troup. They recently celebrated 42 years of marriage.
David worked in the automotive industry for most of his career. He loved music, guitars and fishing, but mostly he loved his family.
David is survived by wife, Brenda, sons, Zachary of Dallas and Noah of Arlington and his fiancée Merry Jett, sister, Diane Miller and husband Carey, niece, Casey Merrell and husband Charles, Lynda Shuttlesworth Born and in laws, Gene and Billye Jean Shuttlesworth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Wanda Staples and beloved sister, Debbie.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday, April 12, 2021 from 6-8 at Blessing Funeral Home, 401 Elm Street, Mansfield, Texas.
