Daniel Enrique Patino
Daniel E. Patino peacefully left this earth on May 6, 2023, at the age of 74, surrounded by his children.
He was born in Montevideo, Uruguay on October 30, 1948, to Maria and Carlos Patino.
There was no spot in the world his eyes, laughter and feet did not touch. He truly loved God’s creation and wanted to experience it all.
Before his first journey away from home his father read and provided a note reciting Joshua 1:9 - “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
That verse and the Lord’s spirit led him to Texas in 1968 and he settled in Dallas/Ft. Worth. He went on to assist his mother, father and three brothers to immigrate to the United States.
Through his passion of math, technology and service, Daniel reached the highest of heights professionally and designed multiple successful businesses. He and his wife Rose created Patino Income Tax together, a company they owned and operated for years. They catered to the underserved Hispanic community with a high level of respect, dignity and professionalism that had not been done before. In the height of their success, they expanded Patino Income Tax to every major Texas metropolitan area and Los Angeles. When Rose was diagnosed with leukemia, they closed the business to focus solely on her health. Daniel continued to stay by her side until her last breath in 1995.
After Rose’s passing, Daniel spent the next 28 years of his life traveling the world and making many friends along the way. From race car drivers in Italy, young families in Spain to restaurant owners in California, the list of his friends was long and diverse. He simply loved to travel, meet people and marvel at God’s creation.
Daniel also enjoyed spending time with his five grandchildren, Bianca, Ariana, Erika, Benjamin and Lauren. He often shared his love of God with each of them through Bible verses, hymns and words of encouragement. He was proud of each of them and their accomplishments and he never let an opportunity pass to tell them. It was important to Daniel each of them found the same peace and guidance through the Lord. During his final days, he continued to send them uplifting words of support, wisdom and love.
He was proceeded in death by his father Carlos Patino, mother Maria Patino, wife Rose Patino, and brother Jorge Patino.
Daniel is survived by his brothers Eduardo Patino of Uruguay and Juan Patino of Dallas, TX, daughter Diana Marquez and her husband Arturo Marquez of Mansfield, TX, son Daniel Patino Jr. and his wife Julie Patino of Edmond, OK, grandchildren Bianca Arispe and her husband Aaron Arispe, Ariana Marquez, Erika Marquez, Benjamin Patino and Lauren Patino. As well as, his two nieces Mariela Patino of Uruguay and Mary Garibay of Dallas, TX.
We will all miss his zest for life, love of good food, perspective, humor, generosity, travel stories, singing and his bold faith. He instilled the love of God in all of us and for that, we are most thankful.
We’d like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff on the 6th Floor of Baylor Scott & White T. Boone Pickens Cancer Hospital, the Blood and Marrow Transplant Clinic, and Dr. Nebu Koshy, M.D. and his team in Dallas, TX for their care and support. We are eternally grateful for your loving kindness.
In lieu of gifts and flowers, we ask that a donation be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in honor of Rose and Daniel Patino.
