Cynthia Lynne Moore Smith, 63, peacefully passed away Dec. 7, 2021 in Mansfield, TX.
Born in North Carolina, Cindy met Dennis, her husband of 38 years, at a bicycle shop in Florida. The two eventually landed in Mansfield where they raised their two daughters and son from afar. She was the recipient of countless Mansfield ISD PTA awards all throughout her daughter’s years in the Mansfield School District as she dedicated much of her free time to participating and leading the PTA. Cindy had a laugh and light inside her that ensured she never met a stranger. She also worked for the ISD for many years, all while also serving as team manager for her daughter’s soccer teams, be it bringing snacks, or supervising a group of wild teenagers on trips.
She visited her family and friends in North Carolina yearly, and each time, returned to Texas (and yes, our horse, chickens, and a multitude of dogs) with an accent she’d learned in her youth.
Cindy is now dancing in Heaven with, among others, her mother, Betty Ruth Miller Moore, father, Willie Norman Moore, of Julian, N.C., and older sister, Susan Moore Hitchcock, of Fl., as well as her mother-in-law Hilda Margaret McKinley Smith and father-in-law Paul Hillary Smith, both of Louisville, KY.
She also now has enough purses to fill her wildest dreams, enough sweet tea to fill an ocean and she no longer must wait until Valentine’s Day to indulge in candy hearts.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Dennis Paul Smith, her younger brother, Douglas Raymond Moore, her two daughters, a son, a son-in-law, and a daughter-in-law, along with three precious grandchildren who loved their “GiGi.”
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Central Standard Time on Saturday, Dec. 18 at Blessing Funeral Home, 401 Elm St. in Mansfield, TX.
In honor of the beauty that poured out of her soul, through her smile, actions and laughter, we ask you ditch the black and come wearing your brightest and boldest colors.
And if you are willing and comfortable doing so, we encourage you to come with a story to share with everyone of a time she made you laugh or filled your heart with love so that this Celebration of Life can be just that - a time to honor and cherish a woman who did so much for so many in such few years.
Live streaming will be available at blessingfuneralhome.net for those unable to attend.
