Connie Gray left this world to be with her Lord on March 3, 2018, at the age of 68.
Connie was born in McAllen, TX, on September 24, 1949, to Thomas and Delma Gray. She left her mark on the places she’s lived including Albuquerque and Las Cruces, NM. She came home to Texas and called Fort Worth her home for the last 22 years.
From a young age, Connie was instinctively drawn to take care of others. She loved helping and watching over kids and the elderly. Through her years she’s cared for countless family members and friend’s children, their children, and sometimes the third generation. Connie’s generosity shined as she helped her neighbors always in their times of need or just to give.
Connie enjoyed listening to traditional country music, making lists, googling important facts, playing card games, and spending time with loved ones. She was up and ready early every Saturday to make it to all the children’s sporting events she could. She will be remembered for her smile, her warmth, her energy, and her love for life.
She leaves behind many people who love her: Her niece, Michelle, who Connie raised as her own since the day she was born, Corky who she treated as her own son, and Ainsley and Izzy who were the lights of her life. Her loving siblings: Carla (Wayne), Cindi (Bob), Walt (Cindy), Clayton (Ruby), Carlton (Carol Sue), Lynell (Willie), and Gary. She had 11 nieces, 11 nephews, 9 great nieces, 9 great nephews, 2 great-great nieces, and 1 great-great nephew. Her aunt Leola (Donald) and uncle Ivon and numerous cousins. Her friends Pilar, Ginny, Irene (Bobby), and Gloria who have supported and uplifted her daily and the countless unwavering friends she has made through the years.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, mother and father (Thomas and Delma Gray), adoptive mother and father (Peggy and Manuel Guerra), numerous loved ones, and her sister/best friend, Pam Rodriguez. She developed a personal relationship with God at an early age and stayed strong in her Baptist faith. We are comforted to know she is once again united with those that have gone before her.
We will celebrate her life at Blessings Funeral Home, Thursday, March 8th at 4:30. Friends and family are invited to gather following the services at the Hampton Inn in Forrest Hill. She will be cremated and laid to rest with loved ones.
