Coe Howard Scott, 83, of Weatherford, TX formerly of Carlsbad, NM, passed away on June 24, 2015 at Lifecare Hospital in Fort Worth, TX. Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Blessing Funeral Home, Mansfield, TX. Funeral services and interment are scheduled for Monday, June 29, 2015, 3:00 PM, at Emerald Hills Cemetery, Kennedale, TX. Howard Scott was born May 7, 1932 in Portales, New Mexico to Oliver O. and Una (Wright) Scott. He graduated from Las Vegas High School, Las Vegas, New Mexico in 1950. Howard married Barbara A. Holcomb April 3, 1953. He worked for Southwestern Public Service for 43 years and retired as an engineering estimator.
Howard found spending time with his family and friends his most precious gift. He was very ingrained in the softball association in Carlsbad beginning with coaching a women’s fast-pitch softball team in the late 60’s and early 70’s. He then went on to coach his daughter Lori’s fast-pitch team in the 70’s and early 80’s and then ended up coaching his granddaughter Jillian’s team in the 90’s. He was loved and admired by his players. He was a life-long member of the Elk’s club. He loved spending time with his daughters and his grandkids. He loved hunting, woodworking, and working around the house. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Barbara. Survivors include his 2 daughters: Tracy Thomas of Flower Mound, TX and Lori Pruitt and husband Don of Weatherford, TX; 3 grandchildren: Aaron Thomas, Jillian Behmanesh and husband Ryan, and Scott Montano.
