MANSFIELD -- Christopher Ernest Descoteaux, 61, loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and well-respected owner of The Wooden Box Factory, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014, after a brief illness at his home in Mansfield
Mr. Descoteaux was born April 16, 1953, in Shreveport, LA, to Gloria J. Descoteaux and Ernest F. Descoteaux. He was raised in Nashua, New Hampshire, and graduated in 1971 from Nashua High School. He graduated in 1973 from the New Hampshire Vocational Technical College, earning a degree in marketing and management. After college, he moved to Texas where he worked for a number of years for Oil States Industries in Arlington. After marrying his wife in 1979, Mr. Descoteaux started his company, The Wooden Box Factory, building wooden shipping crates and pallets. He successfully continued this business until his death.
Chris was well-known for his oversized garden and his generosity in sharing with family, friends, neighbors and customers, the vegetables that he grew. Chris loved hunting, fishing and was an avid antique car collector. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandson, Canon, who was the light of his life.
Survivors: Wife of 35 years, Barbara Descoteaux of Mansfield; daughter, Katie Anderson and son-in-law, Trent Anderson of Burleson; son, Alex Descoteaux and daughter-in-law, Lauren Descoteaux of Arlington; mother, Gloria Descoteaux of Mansfield; brother, Paul Descoteaux of Possum Kingdom Lake; grandson, Canon Anderson of Burleson; nieces and nephew; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
