Minnie Christine Reece Nash passed peacefully on November 21, 2017. At her request, no funeral service will be held, but instead a celebration of her life among friends and family on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Cattlemen’s Steakhouse, 2458 N. Chris, as she preferred to be called, was born in Brownfield, Texas on July 29; 1938, the only daughter of J.H. Reece and Vera Faye Bilbrey. She was married to Selwyn Bayne Nash from 1957 to 1990, producing four children. She loved her adventures in the various countries and continents that the family lived in, including North Africa, Spain, Malta and Brazil. Chris was very creative and a talented seamstress, cook, decorator and enjoyed many crafts. She loved playing cards and telling jokes with her many nieces and nephews. She was a skilled dietary manager at Parkwood Retirement Center for 13 years until she retired to live with her daughter Sheryl in 2004.
Chris was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Alfred Don Reece and her youngest son, Jeffrey Bayne Nash. She leaves behind a brother Harlon John Reece and wife Mildred “Midge” of Herndon, VA; brother Wayford Gary Reece and wife Susan of Mansfield, Texas; daughter Tamie René Morgan and husband Ken of Burleson, TX; daughter Sheryl Annette Nash of Arlington, Texas; son Selwyn Jalyn “Jay” Nash of Arlington, Texas; grandsons Kenton Thomas Morgan and Hayden Reece Morgan; and granddaughter Chandler Christine Nash; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to All Star Equestrian Foundation, a therapeutic riding center where her grandson Kenton receives horse riding therapy.
