Charles Schlichter

MANSFIELD - Charles Warren Schlichter of Mansfield  passed away Sunday June 3, 2012,  in Fort Worth of Thyroid Cancer. Service: A Memorial Service was held on June 8, 2012 at Olinger Chapel Hill in Littleton, Colorado, with Military Honors by the U.S. Navy. Charles was born in Beloit, Wisconsin on March 16, 1924. He served aboard the U.S.S. WASP and the U.S.S. Gambier Bay during WWII.  He worked for the U.S. Department of Highways and Materials Lab at the Denver Federal Center in Denver, Colorado until his retirement in 1980.  He moved to Mansfield in 1983. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Loretta Schlichter, and a cousin, Robert Bauer. Survivors: He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Martha; cousins Theodore Lakey of Banning, CA, Margaret Olson of St. George, UT, and Barbara and Bill Confer of Virginia Beach, VA
