Charles Edward Reilly Jr.

Charles E. Reilly Jr., 98 of Mansfield, passed away on July 5, 2022. Charles was born May 18, 1924 to Charles and Elizabeth (Johnson) Reilly in Denver Colorado. He was raised by his father and step-mother, Charles and Dorothy Reilly.

Charles met the love of his life Claire Schlehuber in Tucson, Arizona and they married in Seattle Washington in 1949. Together they raised six children.

He joined the Civilian Conservation Core in 1941 and went on to the United States Air Force where he honorably served his country as a technical Sergeant for over 20 years. After his retirement from the Air Force, he worked for the United States Postal Service for over 20 years. He was active with the La Habra, California American Legion.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Reilly Sr., Elizabeth Reilly, and Nadine Reilly, one brother and four sisters; his sons, John Reilly and Patrick Reilly; and granddaughter, Katherine Reilly.
He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Claire Reilly of Mansfield; sons, James Reilly (Joan) of San Luis Obispo, and Michael Reilly (Lisa) of Yuma; daughters, Sheila Kornegay (Linwood) of Cypress and Marianne Madory (Richard) of Mansfield; brother, Richard Reilly of Tucson; grandchildren, Jennifer Speece, Matthew Kornegay, Corey Johnson, Kelly Urbina, Peter Reilly, Charles Reilly, and Kimberly Madory; and numerous great grandchildren extended family and friends.

In Lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
