Charles Frank Kratky Junior was born in Fort Worth, Texas in 1947 to Charles Kratky Sr. and Helen Payne Kratky. Charley was the captain of his football team at Tremble Tech High School. He was known for speaking at the pep rallies before the game and promising that this game would be the one they would finally win. They never did, but they all had a great time playing.
Charley met his wife, Debby in 1980. At the time, Debby had three little boys. Wade who was 10, Josh who was 7 and Aaron who was 1.
Charley was the guy running up and down the soccer field or the football field taking pictures. He was the guy on the second row of band concerts and class talent shows taking all of the pictures. He was also the guy who picked up his son every day from first grade and told him tall tales about pirates and buried treasure. He was the guy who fixed their cars and slipped them a little cash when Debby wasn’t looking. He was also the guy who loved his nieces Linda Corley and Amber Rehman who always told him that he was the “cool guy” in the family. Charley was also the guy who took care of Debby when her MS got her down. He was the guy.
Charley worked for Southwestern Bell for 40 years and had been able to enjoy retirement for over ten years. Because he was retired, Charley was also the guy who took care of both Debby’s Mom and Dad during the last few years of their lives.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and his brother and sister. He is mourned by his wife Debby Walker Kratky, his sons, Joseph Wade Burk, William Joshua Burk, and Aaron Scott Burk. He will be missed by his nieces Linda Corley and Amber Rehman. And most of all, he leaves behind his beautiful grandchildren; Eliot Burk, Bishop Burk, Adam Burk, Mayleen Burk, Lily Burk, and Jasmine Burk.
We were all so blessed to have had him in our lives, he was our Superman.
