Charles Wayne Anderson

Charles Wayne “Charlie” Anderson, 62, passed away on December 19, 2019, after a battle with cancer.

Charlie was born on December 18, 1957, and was a life-long resident of Mansfield. Music and sports were his passions. He played the organ and piano for FUMC Mansfield for thirty years. He played baseball at Mansfield High School where he graduated in 1976 and continued to play in adult softball leagues for many years. He enjoyed attending sporting events at all levels in the D/FW area, and followed his son, Corey, throughout his high school and college basketball career. He was a machinist by trade for 39 years, working at numerous shops in Mansfield and recently retiring from Drill King. Charlie married Jo Gause in 1984 and they had two children, Kaylee and Corey. Even through divorce, they remained dedicated parents to their children and close friends.

Charlie is survived by his children, granddaughter Destiny, brother Gary Don, and many beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry (JB) and Vernie Anderson.
