Carrie A. Hogan, 59, of Mansfield, Texas, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center.
Carrie was born in Houston, Texas on September 2, 1957. Cassie was her nickname given to her when she was a child. She had a hard time saying her “r”s, so it was easier for her to say Cassie, so she was called the name Cassie more than her real name Carrie.
She was a caring and loving Mother to her 3 sons she had three boys with learning disabilities and was always there for them during their formative years.
In school, when she had to be there for their Ard meeting, she was always there to help them through their classes to do what is required of them for school. The oldest was in Special Olympics, the middle son was in basketball and our youngest was in baseball. She was always involved in their sports, backing them with whatever they chose to do.
Cassie worked at Bryant Elementary in Arlington, Texas. She was a Teacher’s Assistant for the Alternate Curriculum working with Special Needs Students. She had a special heart for the kids and loved her job working with them. It takes a special person to be able to work with these kids and she was a caring person who loved her job which was very rewarding to her. During her years at Bryant Elementary she received Teacher Assistant of the Year, a very special honor. Cassie was very dedicated to her job and to the kids she worked with. She loved her job but the best reward was seeing these kids excel in small things that made them feel very special and loved.
Cassie was a member of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church.
Cassie is survived by her husband, Daniel Hogan and three sons, David Hogan, Brian Hogan and Mark Hogan.
